WaterBans launches

WaterBans went online in August 2026. I made this site in my spare time after becoming frustrated while trying to figure out the water restrictions in my town and the surrounding towns. Every website presents the information in a different way, or it's outdated, or it's impossible to find...

I've made a few websites in the past, so I started this so that people have a simple and easy place to look up town water restrictions. Right now we're only covering watering restrictions like "water one day per week" due to droughts, but I plan to add boil-water advisories too.

Yes - we'll be adding restriction info for all 50 states.

The website is only a few days old at this point so I plan to change up the look/feel, and it will take a few weeks I expect to gather restrictions across the whole country. I'm going to add a way to report missing/innaccurate information, a contact/feedback page, email notifications for your town, and so on. It's going to stay simple though - I want to keep the website focused on:

• being easy to use
• staying accurate and updated

I'll try to put out one blog post a week. It might be about how the website is coming along, trends in the water restriction data, or something else. I want it to be open so if people are curious about what this website is for, the answers will be out there.
